US Elections 2012

The more and more I think about the run up to the elections, the more and more I dislike either of the candidates. Can we start the whole process over with new candidates in the running? It would make me happier.

Who cares really what would make me happy, I am a naive 23 year old living in the UK with a dream to change the world. What some may find shocking is that since the age of which I have been able to vote for a political party, I have avoided the ballot paper at every opportunity. This is not due to my lack of knowledge of political parties or that I am just being a rebellious citizen but because I feel so strongly about the power of voting that I don't want to take part in a corrupt, controlling, manipulative bunch of upper class liars that once they have power over the nation they would abandon their manifesto's and promises they initially stated. I personally feel a great disconnection between me and those who claim to represent me, I highly doubt that I'm the only one that feels that way too.

As you can probably tell, I am not very fond of politics, I just want us all to live in safety and comforts of our loving communities. My mum would always tell me that I should vote, and my reply would always be "so who you voting for?" and she always would smile at me and say "vote for the devil you know, rather than the devil you don't know". If I was to take that advice as an american I would then vote to keep Barak Obama for another term in office.

On what merits do we judge Romney and Obama, their foreign policies? Religious beliefs? Democratic? Republican? Colour of their skin? Whatever you base your vote on, be prepared to live with the consequences. Whether the vote goes in your favour or not, you will be held accountable for the future. Maybe that responsibility is something that I do not wish to have and that is why I don't vote. But like always I will sit back on my sofa and watch the news... the front row seats to the world unfolding before my eyes.
